The Homeland Handbooks: Newquay

The Homeland Handbooks was a series begun in 1896 to provide information about local areas in Great Britain.

This volume about Newquay in Cornwall and the surrounding villages was published in about 1930 and includes a contemporary Ordance Survey map, a town plan and details of excursions, a short history of the town and details of local industries.

This is a guidebook, not a directory, so the references to individuals are in the many advertisements for hotels, such as Breezeland, which offers 'The best English cooking nicely served at seperate tables' and is under the personal supervision of the proprietess Miss Elford.

The CD is published by S&N Genealogy Supplies.
